So many great songs, such an iconic figure. I was just thinking the other day how good to know he's still alive...

Iconic doesn't really cover it. Amazing life. Actually not as old as if imagined he was. Real loss. RIP.

Nearly saw him live, but he decided against flying over in the wake of 9/11. We didn't know until we turned up at the venue. Gutted.
With a legacy of beautiful, uplifting music such as his, how could we be annoyed. I've already packed my boxes Lee, but I'm sure you'll pay tribute handsomely.
One of the "big ones" (in terms of influence) gone. Sad day.
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

I found a copy of Madness in a junkshop here a few years back, along with The Schoolgirls 45.

Bluebeat originals are thin on the ground in Spain, and Bluebeat originals in excellent condition are thin on the ground everywhere, so I was well pleased.

Wish I had more Buster. We used to listen to his dubwise lp a lot round at my mate Gary's

I will be DJing tomorrow and the other DJ wrote to me: "Just found out that Prince Buster has died. Maybe towards the end of the night on Saturday we should go back to back/one deck each and do a bit of a tribute?".

Here are some of the songs I intent to play.

                  it's pretty well known!

(The Specials had certainly heard it when they wrote Ghost Town )

                  a few more:

                  Shaking Up Orange Street

(pinched by Studio One as the Pressure and Slide riddim)

                  Sunshine With My Girl

                  Linger On

                  Dance Cleopatra

(also released without the vocals as Roland Alphonso "Jericho Chain")

                  The Prophet (with Slim Smith)
