    R.I.P. Manfred Krug

    Just heard about this today, he passed away last Friday.

    He was a star in Germany's most popular and traditional crime series "Tatort" , which has a great theme track by Klaus Doldinger by the way (which reminds me that I still need that one..).

    But more importantly, Manfred Krug put out some great records, also alongside Günther Fischer, another former music "legend" from the German Democratic Republic. Most notably those on AMIGA.

    Baden Gehn' off of the No. 2: Ein Hauch Von Frühling release is and will remain such a deep groover.. Unfortunately no youtube-link available (at least in Germany)

    That No 2 is such a great record. I reckon this is my favourite track off it. From 1972 and it sounds like it; great sounding, no expense spared, studio magic.


    Incidentally, what is it with Germany? If my son's band post a video people in Germany can't see it.

      The German copyright protection organization GEMA didnt agree on the terms of use, so lots of the stuff got blocked.. Until actually 3 days ago Youtube and GEMA agreed on the (financial) terms so Pandoras box of music (videos) has just been busted wide open! Im guessing your son's band will enjoy some further reach now with their videos. ;-)

        I see. I think they had to use Vimeo in Germany to get around the problem. Looks like Manfred's not that popular on here.
