  • The Vinyl Detective

Apologies if this has already been dissected on here but I'm currently reading (actually listening to) The Vinyl Detective by Andrew Cartmel. And really enjoying it.
    It's hokum but great fun.
In a nutshell, it's about a collector on the trail of a mega rare west coast jazz album. With murders.
Now, I'm no vinyl detective but were I tasked to find an extremely rare U.S. jazz record worth thousands I wouldn't waste my time trawling charity shops. But the guy has clearly paid his dues in such places and he describes it well.
It's great fun and worth a look.

I'm reading one of them at the moment (think there's three), enjoying it.

That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Just one I think - number 2 comes out next year. I've got it in my "read on holiday" pile for next month....

Sorry, that wasn't very clear on my part was it? Three planned according to Mrs Treeboy, who shoved the book into my hand in the first place, along with a hefty reccomendation
