NRR - kids tv. early 80s. remote control?

we were shown in primary school a tv series, one episode (or could have been a few) was about a girl with a remote control that could speed up her life. but she pressed fast forward too much and ended up an old lady dieing in bed.

any ideas what this could be? I was about 6 /7 so it would have been made before 1984 / 85 ish.

I have searched look and read, dramarama, I cant find anything with this plot.

I do remember a girl in my class being excused from the 30 min sit in the tv room lesson, as the series scared her.
