Nice interview with an apparently famous collector Geoffrey Weiss:

    http://dustandgrooves.com/geoffrey-weiss/

"Anyone who tells you that all the great music has already been made is just lazy."

"Some records look beat up and play great, some records that look mint play dismally. "

"Never buy something because you think it’s valuable; if that’s your interest, buy real estate."

I can agree with all of that.

    Am I posting too much?

Id have to check myself when Im home, but was this also included in the Dust and Grooves book? Great thing to have on the coffee table and sift through while spinning some records.

Pretty serious when you have a separate house just for the wrekkids!

          This is a good quote...

Something I don't understand about these people with colossal collections: he says that he's ruthless in getting rid of stuff that he doesn't love, yet he still has thousands of LPs. Are there really that many great albums? Not in my experience. Or maybe I'm just fussy.

Everyone's notion of great albums is subjective. I agree with you, but I'm always jealous of people who obviously believe there are that many.

I prefer the hunt, the playing them isn't that interesting to me anymore. I don't have the time. I like the buying / finding / going out looking for them bit

I find that a funny quote too, I have a great time looking through records and not buying/playing any.
I am just as happy looking through a trough of Folkways releases whether i come away with any or not.

Thanks for that. I completely agree with his views on Pink Flag. Also, this chimed with me - 'Before the Ramones, I thought rock ‘n’ roll was something that happened in the past'
