Anyone heard of these guys before?

I caught then on friday night in dalston.

Kind of medieval folk with whibbly moogs and banging drums. Very very groovy.

Ben - wheres the piccies of us stealing the fish?

That looks really interesting "psychedelic medieval rock"

It's a shame there is no audio on the site, I'm curious to hear what they sound like...

I have one track on a CD from the psych zine Ptolomaic Terrascope from about 18 months ago. Its called "Music Plays In The Air" and is real sweet. I've been jonsing for more.

They've had a detailed website for at least the last 2 years but the audio has tantilisingly not been available.

That track sounded cool, took a while to download on dial up but it was worth it. Wasn't that rocky (or medieval) but still nice. I'm defintitely going to check there LP.
There are some amusing posts on their forum too!

Picked up the CD of the Circulus long player this afternoon, and just having a first listen. Three tracks in (The Scarecrow is doing some wibbly moog'n'flute business as I write) and I'm proper sold. Not a trace of irony to be heard, just super-uncool Roundtable/Prog/Folk vibes and grooves, with lyrics dafter than any brush of my acquaintance...

The band photos in the booklet are brilliant, too. This is great.

                      Mojo article

Full page Circulus album review in the August Mojo in Filter Albums section by Ian Harrison Titled:

                      Medieval Heat
Move over acid folk and pump up the crumhorns. The new sound of summer is Olde English Folk Rock......

                      Ian Harrison writes:
...albums that wear their eccentricity as proudly as this often get it in the neck when the wheel spins once more. Until then, though, this plea for candlelight over strip lighting, mystery over crudity and magic over mundanity will do just fine as this summers most unexpected soundtrack so far.

Great album title IMHO: A Lick On The Tip Of An Envelope Yet To Be Sent

does anyone know if the limited vinyl is out yet? my local record store (mentioning no names) hasn't paid their bill to the distributor, so can't order it...). Want one.
We know when a mate buys it for you too.

Selectadisc were CD only this afternoon, and they're usually pretty quick getting things in upstairs...

...and having now heard the whole (a) initial positive impressions are confirmed, and (b) perhaps a bit of irony (or a lot of hallucinogenic drugs) have slipped in, especially when someone shouts out 'Power To The Pixies' Wolfie-Smith style in the middle of a song.

I suspect someone might have been stockpiling 'shrooms ahead of the ban. If not, I wouldn't expect much of the follow-up...
