Johnny got played out already? You didn't waste any time!

You managed to get the cd to work yet?
    Don't call it a comeback... H, N, and the number 7.
    Ok, it's a bit of a comeback, I suppose...

I wish! Right now, this venue is still establishing itself - people popping in to check the place out - it's rather cavernous in it's current 'raw' form, but it'll build up over time, and it's worth sticking with just for the quality of the sound system... Chris and his light surgeons will be installing all kinds of projectors and what not to make to live area look more 'lived in' and I have a rough plan to hold extra Hot, Funky & Sweaty nights there in the new year, as part of my quest to establish a live circuit to attract funk bands from outside London and abroad, so they can play several intimate sets over the space of a short stay... I talked to Liam & Fin about this and they and the owners of their venue for Bring It Up are interested in the idea, and then there's Hugo sarf of the river, so that's four potential dates for one band...

Yeah P, that Travis Black is a nice way to open a set - did I tell you the time I arrived in Dallas and the first three piles of records I saw in the first music place I visited there all had your records on top of them?

Yup Manzo, that wasn't the first time Soul Talk's got an airing, second time this week! Copying in your excellent CD mix as I type...

And no Alan, not quite the whole of The Free Slave, just enough to take a leak and grab a beer!

Manzo, I'm afraid the computer won't take to the CD, it's got a scratch of Grand Canyon proportions running across it! Hey Matt Hero, would you happen to have a CD of M's Xmas mix? Care to burn me off a copy?

Nick, the mix is still up on that link that I e-mailed you. If you get yourself an mp3Pro player:

Audion (I take it that you have a mac, seeing as you posted that powerbook Q the other week)

it will sound as good as a cd, plus Audion will let you burn it to cd as well.
                Don't call it a comeback... H, N, and the number 7.

Did a mix show with Iron Monkey (of the Soul Strut board)

my half of the set went as follows:
-William Hudson III "Sermon" (PS Records)
                  -Mount Rushmore "Toe Jam" (Dot)
                  -Howlin' Wolf "Pain" (Cadet Concept)
-SOD "Too Loose to get Tight (Pt. 1)" (Decca)
-Frank Wess "Willow Weep For Me" (Enterprise)
-Blue Aquarius "Fox Fire" (Gospel Truth)
-Aquarians "Let the Sun Shine In" (Marble Arch)
-Galt MacDermot "Who is Sylvia" (Kilmarnock)
-Egg "Tocatta Fugue in D" (Deram)
                  -Solomon Burke "GOMLW" (Atlantic)
-Malcolm Lockyer "Hanged Man Theme" (Contour)

I'm loving the Vinyl Vulture trades definitly working well in the sets.

thanks, You'd be surprised how well that song goes into "Get out my Life Woman" or any other song with a meaty drum intro. One of my favorite ways to get a crowd to make "ooohs" & "Ahhs"
