    That's Haskell not Heksell

Jimmie Haskel was a composer, but mostly an arranger and then
    producer in Los Angeles, CA

I've seen that record a few times, but my own attraction to JH
is his COUNTDOWN LP on Imperial recorded right on the time line
for the new fangled sound invention known as STEREO.

The LP has a trememdous outer space cover for starters
and the music is truly from another planet by 1958's
    "easy listening" standards anyways, IMHO

Titles: Blast Off!, Weightless Blues, RockinÂ’ In The Orbit,
Starlight, Hydrazine, Moon Mist, We Get Messages, Moonlight Cha Cha Cha,
Astrosonic, Venus, Asteroid Hop, Homeward Earth.

It's a bit of mixed bag of sounds, 1) Outer Space easy listening
with great fun pop cool and strange electronics, 2) Crazy ROCKABILLY
with outer space electronics with drums, Tenor Sax and Bass, there's a
cool 'pop outer space Cha Cha" there too

Lead Electric Telecaster: James Burton, Big Jay McNeely-Tenor Sax
and Jimmie Haskell-everything else including drums, bass, percussion,
electronics and that's him on the cover with 1 of the electronic gizmos
he cooked up in his garage down in LA

    Jack

That Oliver geezer is right about that 'Prelude' track...its a good 'un!

Cecil is still going strong. now he's sharing the shop with the 'fruity' vid seller there is something for all the family! i've turned up some nice bits there this year actually...yesterday i also got that 'Hair is Beautiful' LP (by barney kessel, but more importantly with Steve Gray and Barry Morgan on keys & skins)....only trouble is that it was typical Manc weather (that fine rain that soaks you through) and it really brought out the 'aroma' of not only the stock, but musty old cecil himself and the usual wino's in there fingering the vids...pooooh!
