It seems fitting that I should kick off this months finds with what is going to be my last find for a while
After a sandwich with BestDressedChicken I couldn't help myself and I checked out some charity shops
In the Christmas section of one I found this:

    http://www.popsike.com/ROGER-ROGERNI...677670214.html

I thought it looked interesting for a quid

Its completely mad and insane and bonkers and has nothing to do with Christmas in any way at all as far as I can tell
Daft electronic noises that may or may not sound like Dinosaurs, horses, the pussy, ducks etc.

    And like that....he's gone

Great find, I love this album! Thanks for reminding me, I just put it on my turntable after reading your post, anticipating (animal) Christmas.

Well, for at least 12 months we're told...

Nice find to finish on BTW.
If you're looking for a pristine copy then this isn't the one for you. The vinyl looks like someone has polished their brickwork with it and the label has been ruined by some fool with a pen.

It seems fitting that I should kick off this month's finds with what I'm hoping will be a continuing run of nice singles for a quid over the next year...

Was that in Angel Mat? I was going to go and have a quick dig yesterday lunchtime, but I didn't bother... dammit!

Some finds from yesterday, a few not pictured - will add on if I get time later or tomorrow.....

Rare UK folk, nice condition overall, some twee-ness, but two tracks that grab my ear-lugs. Really pleased with this, will have tp listen proper to decide fully.

Not bought much jazz for a while so was happy with these few....

For your records, this private 45 is terrible!!

No - it came from the Oxfam in Marlyebone High Street - I had another meeting there after I left you - if anyone is interested there were some other libraries - fairly late for me but maybe up someone else's street

So there may still be some goodies in the Angel charities

Yeah, cheers Lord. Coming in at the end of the year I think the Dolphy is my fave find of the year - an incredible LP.
Only had a quick needle drop of the Bolivian LP, but side c is an excellent listen thus far. Superbly packaged - do you rec any other titles in the series??

was on a work trip down the line to Wellington yesterday and managed to squeeze in a quick, erm, three hour detour to a wonderfully ramshackle 2nd hand emporium - all tettering towers of dusty vinyl interwoven with equally tettering towers of books, hairdryers, shoes and crockery.

scored myself 35 7's (at two bucks a go) after deciding to forgo the umpteen stacks of albums for another time. besides, most of them were buried under avalanches of cassettes.

anyway, among the gems I found:
John Shakespeare Orchestra (Decca) Number One Theme/ Fade Out - bloody amazing
The Gladiators (Direction and with Ilford Palais stamp) As Long As I Live (I Live for You)
Mongo Santamaria (Direction and stamped as above) Cloud Nine
Bugaloos (Capitol) Theme from the Bugaloos - for very, very old times sake
                        Tony Camillo's Bazuka (A&M) Dynomite Pts 1&2 - niceness
Mel and Tim (Concord) Backfield in Motion - mo' niceness
The Animals (Decca) Inside-Looking Out/ Outsider - rockin'
Cupid's inspiration (NEMS) My World ...is now complete
Earl Grant (Brunswick) Hunky Dunky Doo/ The End - looking for his stuff after a recent posting here
Tommy James and the Shondells (Roulette) Crystal Blue Persuasion/ I'm Alive - still after Don Fardon's version of the b-side but this'll do in the meanwhilst
The Pete Jolly Trio (Choreo) Little Bird
Los Bravos (Decca pre-release sample) Bring a Little Lovin'/ Black is Black
The Trade Winds (Red Bird) New York's a Lonely Town
Redbone (Epic) Witch Queen of New Orleans - really liking the b-side Chant: 13th Hour
The Move (Deram) Night of Fear

a grand time was had by all. OK, just by me then...

All of them. They don't pop up often in the UK though, and in Germany they seem to know that they're pricey. The Eastern Europe title - Orient Okzident is incredible, Musik der Pontos Griechen - a Greek title is amazing, but this is one of the few labels where I think it's worthwhile to have the whole run. I'm working on it.

Is the Out There Esquire pressing considered the original UK pressing, or was there a New Jazz UK pressing as well. I'm not really up on this era of UK Jazz pressings.

I need to get back to posting finds.
