Not everyday you get a score like that roun' these parts - and I didn't even have to include money into the transaction.
I had this on the decks at Flashback a couple of times over the last month or so but each time it never quite grabbed me, glad it went to a good home though!

Trade in various London stores, couple from record fairs and a few from charities.

I bought from him once. I'm in the USA. He didn't comply with my requested packing instructions to remove the record from the cover before packing in order to avoid seam splits, and naturally, the record arrived with badly split seams. When I informed him of it, he offered no apology, mea culpa, or partial refund. Instead, he claimed to have sacked the boy employee who had packed it! Seriously!
I've never dealt with the man again, and un-bookmarked his site.

          • I very rarely go in Haggle, Daft considering it's ten minutes from my work, but Flashback is a much better proposition - the guys are much friendlier and the pricing understandable, and not too gouge-y. Grading and locating actually locating the records aren't problems. Having said that there's something I like about Haggle - the tradition of mad irascible shop owners has a certain English eccentric charm I suppose!

I think the owner of the former posts on here as "misswhitchurch"?

            • all this utrecht talking made me go to my first recordfair in 5 years

at zurich it was. entered 20 minutes after it opened and really...grueling stuff going on. there was some serious chud offered that you would expect in a ten year old charity shop stock. also just too many beatles, stones and elvis raers. i also never before noticed so many 50s rocknroll tables.
anyway, 10 minutes in and i almost had enough. still i managed to stay for almost 4 hours, eventhough i had a backpack

glad i went though, as i found some nice stuff. but really, i wont visit another fair for the next 5 years.

jonesy - growing (glad to find a cheap copy of this prog/jazz whatever mixture with a nice "1st place at montreux jazz festival" sticker on the front.)

              aardvarks - same
(wanted a cheap copy of this for a while. austrian private prog thing. think it was recorded live, at least it sounds like it. good fun and sounds nothing like '82)

tim buckley - blue afternoon (another longtime want and what a beautiful lp! late night moods for days )

bobak, jons, malone - motherlight ( very clean OG copy of this monster psych/prog lp. it was well worth the 30£ thanks to the unknown vg+ vulture who once recommended this to me!)

leaf hound - same (german og. bit beaten but very playable copy of this quality hardrock record. straight out the 5£ bin)

jonathan - same (fun early electro breaks)

hawkwind - in search of space (another lp crossed off the list. also from the 5£ bin. gimmick cover is a bit beaten but overall a nice german copy. spacetatstic!)

randy burns - an uncertain lady (finally upgraded my dodgy italian boot of this. magical record. my favorite by burns)

pierre cavalli - folk and western guitars (wanted to hear this for a while and finally it was cheap enough to take a blind punt. its fun, but i doubt i will come back to it often)

the monks - black time (my first ever monk release on vinyl was about time. don't even know whats on it yet.)

neu! - same (actually i was hoping of finding this today. after passing several 80+ copies i was happy to shell out 15£ for this pretty clean og copy)

hard meat - through a window (i think this record was the first lp i ever put on my wantlist (when i still had one). i never bothered buying it all these years but finally did so today. damn, this is just amazingly good!)

              some more dollar bins here.

dick hyman - mirrors (bloody good organ easy listening jazz weirdness.)

pure food and drug act (haven't listened yet, but remember this being good fun jam-rock nonsense)

mike cooper - places i know (gotta release those dawn records from the dollar bin. not sure what to think of this. countriesque folk)

zzebra - same (i think this went onto my wantlist pretty much the same time the hard meat record made it on it. its better than i expected. in fact, the a-side, which is less funky and more jazzy/proggy, is pretty good)

              kurt maloo (good lp!)

cerrone - supernature (oh yes! this will get much plays at my house )

              a good, exhausting day

edit: oh, and i picked up the first two pokora books, 1st editions, stone mint, for next to nothing

                        excellent!
i wasn't aware of this nucleus release for years.
i was considering buying it today as well though.
but it would have been for completion only (i don't like it much, musically, thats what i have in mind at least).

                        roots and belladonna to go...

You are nuts. Unless the next fair isn't for another five years.
You freeking scientologists are all the same, quible, dribble and then demand ice creams. Ohhhhhhhhhhh.

i've never been to any other record fairs than the ones in zurich.
i guess a hall full of recordcollectors is just not a place for me.
and i'm really not used being among mojo collectors.

damn i tell you, to me this was the HORROR!
