  • Back after a lovely week in the Asturias region in northern Spain, a quick pop to the shops today found me some records:

John Dankworth & His Orchestra - Movies "n" Me (RCA)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydMw4zor9iE

Dennis Lopez Liquid Latin - Cinnamon Rock (PYE)

Lee Konitz - The Nonet (PYE)

Very smart version of Nefertiti on here, good!

New Horizons- The Way To Complete Relaxation (New Horizons)

    Samples galore!

Various - Tribute To Cliff (Embassy)

Comp of cheapo label Cliff covers - the Hal Burton version of "Move It" is ace

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaJ9zcKaa3c

Carlos Romanos - A Touch Of Latin

Double lp of cheesy latin business and Carlos finally lets rip on the very last track, "El Cumanchero", bah!

        Yeah - them too!

Love that Ronnie Bird. I was lucky enough to find 4 of his eps super cheap at Utrecht a couple of years ago - sadly that one wasn't one of them.

Sounds like you've done the leg work on Ronnie Bird Lee, any recommendations?

The 'Chante' ep is ace as it has a version of 'I con only give you everything' and 'Lies' for starters

                        • Aside from the usual nonsensical comedy gatherings, freebies from Ben and ridiculousness, I have in July acquired a large bag of stuff as pictured here:

It's all 1970s stuff from the landlady of my local pub. Her records are typical 70s pop while her hubby's are all good hard rock. So I now own most of the 70s releases from Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath as well as a fair amount of Bay City Rollers.

Peter Ustinov - The Many Voices of Peter Ustinov:

England Supporters - Oh Sweet England:

Peter Sellers and Irene Handl - Songs for Swinging Sellers (No 4):

                          Rupert and the Fire Bird:

Rainbow - Songs From The Thames Television Children's Programme:

Scrumpy and Western singles from Farmer Shag Connors and the Carrot Crunchers - The cleanest little piggy in the market:

Farmer Shag Connors and the Carrot Crunchers - I'm Jealous of the Farmyard Cockerel:

Roland Rat Superstar - Love Me Tender:

Max Miller - Max at the Met:

From Glaswegian travels, Hector Nicol - Laffin Room Only:

                          Hector Nicol - Hobo Sexual?

Great unconvincing drag acts of our time, Ken Goodwin - Make Someone Happy:

                          Bugs Bunny Comes To London:

Benny Hill - Benny at the BBC:

Barbara Cartland - Album of Love Songs:
