I knew nothing about this LP I just liked the sleeve, it sounds really lush and downtempo
One of my favourites. Maybe even a "Desert Island" LP. It's been reissued a couple of times. Once by the Agnes B clothing concern with a different cover, I think.

      Interesting piece on her here

I thought I had another Young Folk LP but I was thinking of this LP, it's quite similar in vibe
and dates from 1969 a bit earlier than the other one

Bad weather spoiled most markets/car boots here. One curious £1find though.
This is on the Proprius label that I probably have been on about earlier, Swedish audiophile label founded 1970, mostly choral, organ, folk, jazz,Xian.
Composer Torsten Nilsson caught my eye as he has been on some of their more prominent releases.
I didn't have that high expectations of this 1972 double album, Septem Improvisationes Pro Organo, but it turned out very much different than I thought.
I figured it would be soothing Xian, but it's dark, heavy, brooding, alternating between eerie Gregorian and frantically atonal. Seven pieces representing the seven major church feasts, and then an eighth one that's even further out there.

There is extremely little information about it on the net, I had to add it on Discogs. Unfortunately there's a warp on one of the records, but it plays OK still. Too bad as they are flawless apart from that.

Thanks for this, never heard of her before, which is odd. Interesting stuff innit.

http://www.discogs.com/Rhet-Stoller-...elease/4930484 Same guy who did the Adam Best - Wall of Sound album. Here he is doing some cod Cypriot music to promote a brand of sherry. 4 tracks in all non are much cop.

http://www.discogs.com/Hogia-Llandeg...elease/2699185 The guitars on the cover drew me in but this is pretty dire country with added 'one man and his dog' sound effects. Its scratched to hell too, bah.

http://www.discogs.com/Alti-Glaibasl...elease/2765048 Interesting cover and if I didn't have toothache and was thinking straight I'd have probably realised this was swiss marching band music. Still I will find a use for this on an end of year mix to negate the 50p shaped hole in my wallet.
Hogiau Llandegai's Defaid William Morgan is an anthem in Bethesda. My grandfather was in the band back when they were a skiffle band and before they went pro .

Here's a contemporary take on it

Yeah, quite a lot of the early versions of songs that ended up on Witch are up on youtube, and you can really hear the Burroughs influence in her delivery.

Not made it to the flip, it was the opening track 'Mynd i'r Fan a'r Fan' which had the added sheep dog ambience.

Popped into the local charity warehouse on the way to the dentist yesterday on the off chance they had replaced the box of Andy Williams heavy vinyl they've had in there for the last couple of months and after fighting my way through the OAP day trippers discovered they had. Not had chance to listen to much mind you.

                      [IMG][/IMG]

Dave Brubeck and Jay and Kai - At Newport

Clifford Brown - Vol 3 The vinyl in this is so thin at first I thought it was missing the record.

Horace Silver - The Best of Blue Note score! albeit a kind of pointless 'greatest hits' still a good listen though.

Sarah Vaughan - I Love Brazil Latin tuneage from the jazz songstress.

Dave Brubeck - Time in Late 70's reissue.

Stan Getz - Getz Au Go Go Live bossa set from 1964.

                      [IMG][/IMG]

Carman Cavallaro - The 3 B's Ivory tinkler ripping off Alan Moorhouse.

Duran, Grapelli, Holloway - Brandenburg Boogie From 79 jazz interpretations of classical works. This is either gonna be pretty cool or very straight laced and I suspect the latter.

Ronnie Aldrich - The Way 'In' Not come across this album by mr two pianos before.

Sarah Vaughan - Songs of the Beatles 1981 and as per title really.

                      Dave Brubeck - Summit Sessions

Richard and Linda Thompson's Sunnyvista 1979 release.

                      [IMG][/IMG]

Miles Davis - Your'e Under Arrest Not familiar with any of Miles eighties works. This one features 'John Scofield' and 'John Mclaughlin' among others (including bloody Sting) and features Miles looking like MC Hammer complete with horrid eighties jacket on the cover and what looks like a dodgy face lift. Was this his last album before he corked it?

Thelma Houston and Jerry Butler - Same Motown from 77.

Bobby Hutcherson - Natural Illusions Reissue of the vibraphonist's album on Blue Note from 1972 on Applause records.

Carmen Cavallaro - Songs of our times More ivory tinkling.

                      Love Unlimited - In Heat

Carmen Cavallaro - For Latin Lovers Plinky Plonk in a latin style.

Otto Weiss - Twice as Nice Alongside Stef Meeder what was it with these soft porn album covers for geeky Hammond players?

I also found a 1950's copy of 'Atlas of the Sky' full of lovely hand drawn diagrams of star systems but the deal breaker was it contained some handwritten pages of Star Trek fan fiction.
