When I lived in London, Brick Lane was largely just a few old mad Jamaican guys selling beating up prams and busted lawnmower engines off of old NHS blankets. How times change.
I think I was probably too busy wondering what groovy sought-after Fred Wedlock gem I'd just been 'robbed' of to even be considering the potential identity of the person who'd unashamedly swiped it from under my nose....

Those mad Jamaican (and other nationalities) guys still exist in the Brick Lane vicinity on Sundays - not long ago I saw one mysteriously cutting up with scissors an extremely smart looking jacket that he'd been trying to sell moments earlier. I can remember going to Brick Lane as a kid with my dad way back in the mid-seventies - great and very, very full of junky old tat.

        • ^Result....I'm assuming you bought it for the 'Sounds of the 70's'?

There's also a decent track on that Ray Mcvay if I remember correctly....

that sounds of the 70's is a cracker, just put a silly bid in on the off chance & won it with no real idea what I was getting to be honest

"Vehicle" mate. Sgt Pepper Drums on the Beat club, Funky Fever on the Moorhouse and the groovy hammond track on the Morgen comp too! Nice one on the "sounds of the 70s" - a rare beast - got mine off that legend Towny.

There's a new reissue out with all his best tracks on it

                  • Also that Morgan comp has a couple of good tracks I think? Possibly one from Lazy Latins, which isn't common. Gunter Kallman etc on the Polydor (if you don't already own that comp), thought the Bobby Hackett might be good but Discogs says it's a reissue of a strings one, and Project 3 was pretty cheesy to begin with, so doesn't sound promising.
