    Tonight's half dozen

No chance to spin them, shame about the gerry Sullivan cover as I have heard that on Spotify and like it, vinyl doesn't look to bad not as bad as the cover

I wonder how long it took them to spot the spelling mistake on the cover of 'Candelarbra'?
There's one on discogs for 100 quid. Someone explain this to me please...
These 3 are exactly the kind of thing I tend to take a chance on myself.

Probably the seller searched online and found the only hit was a Discogs entry then put a cheeky price up to see if anyone bit.

It's listings like this that baffle me:

it's OK to head out for wonderful, but on your way to wonderful, you're gonna have to pass through all right. When you get to all right,
take a good look around and get used to it, because that may be as far as you're gonna go.

I'm quite sure that the John Chambers on bass on the "Candelabra" album was also in Paper Lace - Nottingham connection and all that. He was prosecuted for having indecent images of kids on his computer a couple of years back.

talking of chances, disappointed with Hubert Wolf And His Electronic Zither today
            https://www.discogs.com/Hubert-Wolf-...elease/2302076
It was all originals, so I thought he might get a bit funky or weird or something.

It's on that President "Gemini" label that you don't often see, although looking at the discography it mostly looks like rubbish licensed from the rest of Europe

His Zither Pops album is awful as well. File next to "The Cordovox Magic Of Valentino" in the "unfulfilled potential" pile.

blimey, never seen that one. love the combination of Liberace gear and silghtly menacing Teddy Boy air.

Wasn't holding out much hope for Hubert, but you have to take these chances in case it was a lost vulture classic, and at least Oxfam got 2.49 for it (!)

Nice pull on the Pseudo 3 hardcore 12"'s. Both great and the blue one hard to turn up mint these days.

My local shop insta-grammed that they were putting out a box of free dance 12"'s last Saturday. The accompanying video showed some nice techno bits like Kenny Larkin on R&S etc. I was away on holiday so i thought bugger it but i walked in there yesterday after being away for 4 days and pulled a copy of Satin Storm - First EP on white label plus some solid mid 90's techno.

I then visited my local dealer and pulled a few pound records from him. Just as i was leaving i noticed a box near his door stuffed full of LP's (pretty nasty looking). Had to have a quick look and 4th record in pulled out and og Labi Siffre - Remember My Song LP in nice condition.

There's a track called "Cobblers" on that Valentino album that I am often told to turn off. Here he is on youtubes (although not that track alas):

edit: interesting - I'm fairly sure my copy of that LP is a Studio 2 - same sleeve but with the logo top right.

That's the one - he's not done bad for himself over the years and I mean that with all due respect. From charity shop staple to Las Vegas regular isn't an easy leap. Just ask Don Estelle.

I just recently got in an order from Flashback that had written on the inner: "£160 on Popsike....Why?"

I'll answer that for them if they like, but it's not because the album is actually worth that much.
