I've got an LP with a lady slightly incongruously singing it in Mandarin but can't actually recall coming across too many versions of it generally. Not that I'm too bothered or anything..

I'll add it was a wiki 'fact' but quite a few here everyone from Val Donnican to Cilla Black. : https://secondhandsongs.com/work/6889/versions To be fair the 'anti nowhere league' punk version is the only one that comes to mind with me, probably more so than the original.

I used to have a thing for collecting cover versions well I say that I did it for 'inner city blues', 'Wichita lineman' and 'over the rainbow' I have them backed up on DVD's somewhere, think it arose as a challenge from a mate at the time. At the moment I seem to be coming across covers of 'Annie's Song' on a semi-regular basis which probably comes from all the crap country records I keep hoarding.

Apols for Ralph McTell thread hijack.

yeah, the 3 or 4 Maigret tracks on that LP are really good, all moody Parisian business. Of course the rest may be more up AG's comedy alley

Yes it is and it only took me 1/2 hour to find the 45 of it in my record room. It should have been under 'L' but these things never are, are they; not when you're looking for them, anyway.

                          It's the law SK.
Everyone tear down your own little wall
That keeps you from being a part of it all
Because you've got to be one with the one and all
You've just got to be close to it all

Cheers Chief, they are in my mitts. I was playing Ralph McTell before I went to work. How many people can say that? It's not difficult to get your arms around him but he's heavier than you'd think, and difficult to tune. I also stuck that Low CD straight in the CD player and was thrilled by the very un-Low like 'Just Like Christmas'. Never heard that and it's straight away become one of my top Christmas songs.

                              Glad you liked it!
a local charity shop had a load of boxes of ex-promo stuff (hence the sticker remains on sleeve, sorry for my poor attempts at removing it) and was doing 3 cds for a quid, so picked up a bunch of stuff including the Low CD. Couldn't leave that at 33p!
Already have 2 copies in the house, but my wife was trying to get me to keep that one as well because she claims to not be able to find them when it's Christmas
