Thought I'd get a few trades going if possible.

Bit of a mixed bunch here, but I'm hopeful that there will be a few that find new homes via the board.

I'd be after the usual VV / VG+ stuff in return, with a particular interest in soundtracks lately, plus I need to raise my Laura Nyro game, some grunge stuff and anything you think I need that I'm hereto unaware of! I'm also after the OG issue of The Associates' debut and my cousin is trying to get all his Skids albums back, so they'd be a welcome option too.

Bump it back to the top, why do people inanely post comments moving the latest trade posts from the top so they don't get properly noticed

I dunno maybe cos its a forum or something weird like that and people like talking or saying polite things for the hell of it. I had this stupid understanding this was a board to make small talk about music on suppose I was wrong as it seems its all about trading.

Thats fine in any other section but when people go to so much effort taking pics etc it would be cool to, at the very least to let it stay at the top for a little while so other folk can see it dont you think or maybe not ?
And you didnt talk about music you just said thanks for some free records which your happy to accept and yet

I really don't understand what the discussion about "keeping it at the top" is about.

Any time someone makes a comment in a thread, it bumps the thread back up "to the top" - it gets surfaced again in the "What's New" view of the site. So the more discussion there is in the thread, the more bumps back to the top it gets.

And so long as no one posts another trades, this thread is the first one visible in the trades section in the "Forum" view of the site.

Either way, discussion shouldn't affect the ability of anyone to find this thread - as far as I can see it would only act to keep it in view more than it normally would be. And, as the man said, this is a forum. You're supposed to talk about stuff.

Yep being polite these days is seemingly a lost art in your book then I suppose. I'm with Sonovox I don't get it. Most peeps just go to the 'What New' Section who cares whether its at the top or below in the 'unread' section if its in 'bold print' you haven't read it, most if not all will see it. If your'e specifically interested in trading you can go straight to the trading section where it will be at or near the top.

Calling peoples post's 'inane' is the act of a snide and at the very least have the bollocks to single out the post/poster because it was obviously aimed at me.

To settle the confusion because I posted a 'Thank You' in Bongolia's 'Freebies' thread that I am assuming is in the trades part of the forum I got:

"why do people inanely post comments...blah, blah, blah" which was obviously directed at my post. I do not believe that is a rule but apparently forum etiquette dictates that is bad form. I really don't care either way and I don't see the problem.

If someone wants to apply to be 'Trades Moderator' or some such apply to do it make up new rules and police to your hearts content or PM me and politely air your grievance instead of snidely singling me out on a public forum as inane. I'm pretty non-plussed to be honest.

Anyway despite this keeping Ben's trades at the top of the list its not doing him or this forum any favours so for that I sincerely apologise.

Having let the dust settle on the spot of handbags, just a quick update:

Karitsat - 'Jeesus Rock' has gone.

Galactic Light Orchestra is on hold.

Quite a few others will either go in my freebies post later, or will tumble into the 'down the market' bag.
