      My stepson who lives in America now came home once when he was 21ish and waxed lyrical about this 'amazing, crazy album, based on War of the Worlds' that he had heard. I remember hearing it in my teenage years and having a similar reaction. It seems to pass from generation to generation and the semi-recent stage/arena shows probably helped.

      Bizarrely in my circle as we only had a mouldy tape of it the prevailing urban myth we accidentally perpetuated was that Phil Lynott played bass on the whole thing. I held that misplaced belief for bloody years. That said the bass playing on that album is amazing.

        I too have those mittens. Tried all sorts of gloves to keep my fingers warm in the frozen crates but those are the best.
