i know VERY little about record collecting, but i have heard of jazz drummers having their own 45's/33's. is there any truth to this ? if so, can you tell me who ?

there are so many bands and records with the drummer as leader. but it doesn't mean you necessarily get more open drums for sampling, although you are more likely to get nice rhythmic tracks with show-off-y bits
i'm guessing Mark2020 meant records of just drums?

Like Bongolia says, do you mean LP's of full, programmed music with the drummer as the lead, or records by drummers that are more instructional??
